Born and raised in Mexico City, obtained her education B.S.B.A. in Hotel Business from IPN Escuela Superior de Turismo from her beloved México City, México.
A highly talented Latina that is proud to be a woman, mother, mentor and visionary that loves
to work with parents, youth, and kids in Whittier and other cities in California. Her goal to promote bilingual education, community engagement, and involvement in our schools, and political systems.
As Director of Education for the Mundo Maya Foundation, Barbara was responsible for coordinating the Educational Speaker Series.
In 2015 she secured a talk at Whittier High School, where Dr. Guillermo De Anda, Underwater Archaeologist, and National Geographic Explorer, presented in front of 750 "at-risk" minority
students about the Sacred Cenotes Mayas, the inundated caves of the Yucatan Peninsula.
The students were highly motivated by his performance. In 2016, under Barbara's leadership, she coordinated the presentation of International Champion free diver Estrella Navarro visited and presented to students about the preservation of the ocean and saving the whales.
Barbara spent more than 13 years as a PTA leader, participated at DELAC, ELAC, SSC, and more.
